Ghana’s First Off-Grid Hackathon
A three-day innovation gathering where 25 young people developed grassroots responses to rural challenges while living and working off grid.
Why this work matters
Technology becomes more useful when it starts with the realities of rural communities and is tested close to the people and systems it is meant to serve.
Our approach
How the work takes shape.
- 01
Collaborative problem solving
- 02
Waste and post-harvest challenges
- 03
Agricultural extension and farmer support
- 04
Off-grid learning and community exchange
Project context
We hosted the event from 23–25 May 2025 with Prisma, WADA and ARC.
The event brought technical creativity into direct conversation with rural needs.
It is recorded as a completed event rather than an ongoing programme.

Where we are now
Our work keeps moving forward.
We share what is active today, what we have learned and what we are building next.
- Our Q3 2025 newsletter records 25 participating innovators.
- The event focused on named rural problem areas rather than a general technology showcase.
- Future innovation events will be announced separately.
